Bethel Pentecostal Church

Christmas is Coming
Bethel Pentecostal Church

We are frantically preparing for our big Christmas production, the Gift of Christmas. We will be featuring our Singing Christmas Tree, accompanied by excellent music and moving drama. There will be nine performances with a total audience of 9000 people. This production has become one of the Christmas highlights in the Ottawa region. One of the most anticipated moments in the performance occurs when a member of the audience is surprised by the appearance of a loved one on stage. Usually the two have not seen each other for some time, but we bring them together to share Christmas. The stories of family reunions are varied but always poignant.

The times of the 9 performances are as follows: December 4-6 7 PM, December 9 7 PM, December 11 7 PM, December 12 2 PM and 7 PM, December 13 2 PM and 7 PM. We love seniors at Bethel and have a breakfast for retirees on the last Friday of the month, most months of the year. We offer eggs any style, bacon, ham, sausage, pancakes, French toast, toast, jam, juice, tea, coffee, all for $3.00. The breakfast provides an opportunity for seniors to come and meet friends for breakfast, or come alone and find friends. We start serving breakfast at 8:30 AM. We welcome guests until 10:00 AM when we close the kitchen.

Wednesday November 11 at 12 Noon, we will have a Remembrance Day luncheon for seniors. We will serve a full roast pork dinner, sing songs from the era of World War 2, introduce the veterans present with us, and we will leave inspired and encouraged.

November 28, women will gather to have a Christmas banquet. This is always a superb evening of exceptional food and hearing a thought-provoking speaker. Joanne Goodwin is our speaker this year and she has a warm, humorous, and encouraging way of relating her story of pain and victory. She will leave you feeling ready to face all of life's challenges.
